As an experienced special education teacher, school counselor, campus administrator and district special education director with a Ph.D. in special education administration from The University of Texas at Austin,  I know how to properly navigate the complex processes and legal requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). My unique experience as a school district/charter school network employee and the parent of a daughter with special needs gives me a 360-degree perspective of all the elements affecting a student’s experience in the PK-12 school system. In addition, I am a trained and certified mediator and arbitrator which has proven to be effective in high stakes, contentious situations working with families and schools.
